One of the benefits of your ScotiaMcLeod plan is the multitude of investment options. To simplify things for you, we have researched the world of investments and have prepared a short list of recommended mutual funds for you to review. For even more choices, search our listing of the over 2000 available mutual funds. Amongst the available mutual funds, most have a deferred sales charge (i.e. no commission to buy but a fee for early redemption), some are no-load, and a few are only available with a front-end load structure (i.e. an up-front commission charge to purchase). For payroll deduction plans, ScotiaMcLeod recommends either the No-Load Scotia funds for short term investors, or the deferred sales charge (DSC) versions of the more popular big name funds listed in our recommended funds. (Note: most mutual funds have a $50 minimum purchase requirement for payroll deduction plans.) |

Please note that many funds which are not (or are no longer) on our recommended list may still be appropriate for your account.
Also note that we are not limited to mutual funds. We offer GICs, stripped bonds, individual stocks and more for your account. To purchase stocks, bonds or mutual funds with higher investment minimums simply accumulate payroll contributions in a no-load Scotia fund until you reach the minimum required, then contact us.
If you are a client of Carl
Spiess, Allan McGlade and The Spiess McGlade Team, you are automatically enrolled in our
Performance Monitoring Service. We review all of the funds available on a
regular basis and if there is a change recommended in your funds, we will
provide all our clients holding that fund with that change recommendation
in writing.
